2015 Mustang

The 2015 Ford Mustang marks the 50th anniversary of the “original ponycar” with a substantial redesign–the model’s seventh, by our count. Though it’s unclear how extensive the makeover will be, the new generation is expected to premiere in a major media blitz at the April 2014 New York Auto Show, exactly half a century after the original’s debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair.

2015 Mustang Interior

The interior of the 2015 Ford Mustang hasn’t had many changes since its restyling in the third generation. Other than the seats getting made out of soybeans for the 2008 model, the Mustang’s interior has stayed the same. Will 2015 be the year of the interior? It’s highly doubtful, but we do expect more of Ford’s bountiful technologies to find their way into the new generation muscle car.

The 2015 Ford Mustang will not differ much from the current V6 and V8 configurations. Expect to see the 3.6L V6 producing 305 HP and 280 lb-ft of torque and the 5.0L V8 delivering 412 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, except that the V8 may be getting direct injection. Rumors have also been circulating about a new 2.3L to 2.5L engine with some sort of power boost for the base model. These engines will more than likely still be mated to the standard six-speed manual and available fuel efficient six speed automatic transmission.

The 2015 Ford Mustang GT500 will also be getting some engine changes to match wits with the new Camaro ZL1. Rumors are stating that Ford will be taking the 5.4L V8 up to 5.8L and that the updated engine could deliver more than 600 HP.

2015 Mustang given the latest from Evos Concept

2015 Mustang
We are still two years away from Ford pulling the cover off the 2015 Mustang but rumors and renderings seem to keep popping up. The latest rendering comes to us from Inside Line and I must say its the best we have seen so far. The design is straight from the Evos concept that debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show with a few signature Mustang styling cues.
We all know the new 2015 Mustang will be smaller in stature and weigh considerably less, some are predicting a 750 pound weight loss for a vehicle that will be a true global car. Don’t expect much change under the hood as the 5.0L V8 motor will still be around along with the 3.7L V6 but the rumor is a new four-cylinder EcoBoost engine will make its way into the lineup.  Also the 2015 Mustang will finally shed the live axle in favor of an independent rear suspension to give the car better handling and more agility.
