The Climax Sports Racer is a stripped-out race inspired performance car that features a total weight of just 906 kg, achieved thanks to the lightweight extruded aluminum monocoque structure combined with hand-crafted aluminium body panels.
Started in 2006 by three Coventry University students, the Climax Sports Racer will be produced in a limited series of 200 units.
Powered by a Ford-derived 4.6 litre V8 driving the rear wheels the Climax produces up to 345 bhp.
Acceleration from 0-60 takes just 3.7 seconds and the top speed is more than 170 mph (273 kph).
The Climax Sports Racer S version will be equipped with a supercharger producing up to 450 bhp.
The chassis, made from extruded aluminium is equipped with fully adjustable suspension to optimise the car set up for either road or track.
Customers will be able to choose among a wide range of options including ceramic brakes, sequential and paddle-shift gearboxes, engine power upgrades and full race harness seatbelts.
The Climax Sportsracer could compete in the same niche as the Caparo T1 anf the Ariel Atom. The announced price is £92,000.
