At the last Goodwood Festival of Speed Alpina has presented the 2011 B5 biturbo, based on the new generation 5 Series model. It is powered by a 4.4 liter V8 engine with 507 hp coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The latest model from Alpina is the B5 Bi-turbo, a high performance sedan based on the new BMW 5 Series.
The engine is a 4.4 liter V8 aluminum unit - the same that powers the B7 - equipped with two turbochargers.
The transmission is a eight-speed automatic gearbox developed in partnership with ZF. It can be operated using the buttons placed on the back side of the steering wheel.
The Alpina B5 Bi-turbo can reach a top speed of 307km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.
Additional technical highlights include electronically adjustable suspension and 20-inch trademark wheels.
The exterior features few modifications, mainly aimed at improving the aerodynamic efficiency.
The front spoiler has a new aerodynamic lip, and the rear end is characterized by the two double-ended-pipes and a diffuser.
The interior features leather seats, a navigation system with Bluetooth, and blue gauges with black-panel LCD technology.
