Audi RS Q3 concept

Audi is set to present its latest concept car, the RS Q3, at Auto China 2012. The concept has been developed around the theme of ‘dynamic performance', with Audi lowering its body by around 25mm as well as widening it with sharp detailing in an attempt to explore the potential of the Q3 model series.
The concept's single frame grille is bordered by brushed and polished aluminum trim, while the black grille insert features honeycombs that are slightly offset to each other deeper inside to create a 3D effect. The headlights are faintly tinted, with the chrome inner parts covered by panels of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP). The bumper has been redesigned and divided into two segments, with the inner sections having honeycomb inserts while the CFRP outer sections have a smooth funnel shape.

The lower section is matte black with the entire lower section of the bumper being coated in blue clearcoat paint. The sides of the RS Q3 feature the same black and blue tinted areas. The roof spoiler runs far towards the rear, with the middle section being slightly shortened compared to the outer sections.

Inside, black is the prevailing color, featuring on the roofliner, floor carpet, floor mats, leather-upholstered instrument panel and on much of the leather seat upholstery. Dark blue Alcantara is used as a contrast to the dominant black color. The material of the CFRP decorative panels was produced by weaving blue luminescent glass fibers into it.

The majority of the steeromg wheel is covered with Black Velvet leather to increase grib, while the inside door handle has a perforated lightweight construction look. In the tachometer, Chinese characters replace the usual Arabic numerals. RS Q3 badges feature on the instrument cluster, the seatbacks, door sill plates and floor mats.
