Mitsubishi has released a special edition version of its Outlander SUV which boasts a raft of aesthetic, functional and safety-oriented extras. Limited to just 300 units nationwide, the Outlander RX is aimed squarely at some of the more flamboyant SUVs on the market.
It is powered by a sports-tuned 3.0-litre V6 MIVEC engine which develops 162kW and 276Nm at 4000rpm, which returns fuel consumption of 10.9-litres per 100km. This is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with a “Sports Mode” sequential style shift change with steering wheel mounted shift paddles.
The exterior features 18-inch RAYS alloy wheels, front, rear and side air dams, chrome exterior door handles and mirrors, HID headlamps and headlamp washers. Buyers will have the choice of either Black Mica or Cool Silver exterior finish available exclusively to the Outlander RX.
Inside, the Outlander RX adds further technological additions including Smart key entry, Bluetooth hands free phone capability, a Rockford Fosgate premium audio system and Mitsubishi Multi-Communications System with satellite navigation. Standard safety includes driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags, and reversing camera.
