The Citroën Samadhi is a concept designed for the year 2050 and targeted to families.
Its main goal is to offer a spacious, comfortable and flexible interior which allows its passenger to feel at home.
This is combined with an advanced autonomous driving system which enables the "driver" to do some work, relax or surfing the web.
The name Samadhi means "equilibrium of Mind Body & Soul".
The interior has no center console, so passengers can rotate their seat, turning the cabin into a social environment.
The cabine features a Citroën pattern running throughout the interior, which also integrates a mood lighting source. All the buttons are replaced by heat sensitive touch screen displays.
The steering is inspired by a Maurice Lacroix timepiece and is split into three levels: the steering itself, the rev-counter and the "chronograph" dial.
A three handle system allows passengers to exit the vehicle regardless of the seat rotation angle.
The Concept is powered by liquid hydrogen, with a hydrogen tank located between the interior and the boot.
The exterior design of the car doesn't adopt the brand's current design language: it is inspired by the iconic Citroën DS, with its large wheelbase, sectional body side, and its dropping DLO.
As Gurmukh Sagoo explains, "The Citroen chevron inspired a sculptural surface treatment around the car, and the silhouette - characterized by a long wheelbase - featured flowing lines that create a forward leaning stance."
