Press Release

TOPCAR Porsche Panamera Stingray, which made its debut at the renowned supercars fair Top Marques Monaco 2010 in April, has been in great demand at present. To maintain the highest workmanship standards and excellent quality of the products all our car performance packages are worked out to the last detail.

To prove the fact the Porsche Panamera appearance by TOPCAR will be available in three editions. Three distinct cars have got three distinct natures.

Black Matt Edition

The car obtains menacing appearance. Even at first glance you can't give up the idea that its matte finish and the invasive lines have adopted an uncanny resemblance to invisible fighter jet. A lower clearance and matte finish make possible to achieve the analogy.

To highlight the main shape-generating lines some elements are painted gloss black: the front lip spoiler, front bumper inserts, ventilation ‘gills' on the bonnet, front fender scoops, side skirts, window trims, both rear wings, the tailgate trim and rear bumper diffuser. Tanned rear lights and black housing headlights give the concluding chord of the strong shape. To make the inner world sing in harmony TOPCAR offers the masterly hand crafted leather interior of the ideal quality.

White Edition

The newborn Panamera has obtained astonishing lines full of grace and dignity for its new appearance. The leading principle of this car is to sing along to its wealthy and self-satisfied sole owner. The car remains distinctive at any time of day or night and in any weather conditions. To emphasize the white gloriole some car trim parts were painted black.

TOPCAR also recommends a set of specially designed and produced black multi-part rims (R21) with the white lip. The white leather interior allied to the exciting design make the ‘Panamera in White' truly unforgettable.

Carbon Grey Edition

It is a fascinating driving machine and the sporty pinnacle of the TOPCAR brand.

The car embodied some player personality traits: gorgeous looks, fearsome performance, racing success and (relative) civility on the road. The car itself painted Carbon Grey and its new dressing mostly made of Visible Carbon Fiber: the front lip spoiler, front bumper inserts, the bonnet, front fender scoops, side skirts, window trims, both rear wings, the tailgate trim and rear bumper diffuser.

The interior is embellished with Visible Carbon Fiber interior parts: the steering wheel trim and paddle, dash and center console trims, door trims etc.

The matched Nappa leather interior decorated with fancy stitches and welt cords combines comfort and style, with incredible practicality.

TOPCAR also provides a set of specially designed and produced multi-part rims (R21).

In order to achieve better performance the new Porsche Panamera engine will be juiced up and get an output from 550 to 750 hp.

BMW 3 Series Travels 1,013 Miles on One Tank of Fuel

BMW has just unveiled a new iteration of the 3-Series, and it is making quite a splash in Europe. It won’t be coming across the pond, but we sure wish that it were.

The BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon develops 163 hp between 3,500 rpm to 4,200 rpm and 360 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm to 3,000rpm. This enables the car to sprint from naught to 62mph in 8.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h).

UK motoring journalist Tom Ford drove a new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics sedan from the UK to Munich and back, on one tank of diesel fuel. The total distance travelled was 1,630 kilometres (1,013 miles), which means the car delivered 68.9mpg overall and CO2 emissions of only 109g/km. These are the same figures claimed by BMW.

BMW can be proud and owners of the E90 320d who must have known the car was capable of such range. Biggest reason for the good news is that the car achieved figures of 75.9 mpg UK (63.2 mpg US or 3.7lt/100km), and never went below 65 mpg UK (54.1 mpg US or 4.4 lt/100km) for the entire trip. The overall figures for Tom Ford and the BMW 320d come in at an average speed of 59.3mph (95.4km/h) and 68.9mpg UK (57.4 mpg US or 4.1 lt/100km).

It propels the BMW from zero to 62mph (100km/h) in 8.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 137mph or 220km/h while returning a combined fuel consumption of 4.1 lt/100km, equal to 57.4mpg US or 68.9 mpg UK, and a CO2 rating of 109g/km in the EU test cycle.

Press Release

BMW's most fuel-efficient and greenest-ever 3 Series completes record-breaking journey on one tank of fuel

BMW's cleanest and greenest 3 Series ever has just completed a record-breaking journey from the UK to Munich and back - on one tank of fuel.

Filled up at the Channel Tunnel, the new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon made it to Munich, then as far as Lille on the return leg - a staggering total of 1,013 miles on a single tank of fuel - before needing to be refuelled.

To put it in a UK geographic context, the distance achieved would have meant being able to drive from Land's End to John O'Groats, and still having 200 miles range left in the tank.

Just as impressive was that the intrepid driver - motoring journalist and TV presenter Tom Ford - didn't use efficient driving techniques such as coasting, or drive deliberately slowly for the trip, coverage of which appeared in yesterday's Sunday Times newspaper.

Although switching the air con and radio off as a concession to fuel saving, Tom managed a reasonable motorway pace all the way there and back, proving that in the real world, the new BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon delivers what it promises on paper - an official combined figure of 68.9mpg and CO2 emissions of only 109g/km.
On the way to Munich, Tom achieved highs of 75.9mpg, and didn't dip below 65mpg for the entire trip. With an average speed of 59.3mph, the car achieved 68.9mpg overall.

He said: "I was prepared for this car to fail in the real world. I was wrong. Although I did try and be careful and drive in a feather-footed manner, I did cruise at a reasonable 65ish mph on the autoroutes and autobahns, so faster than the usual economy run pace.

"Think about it in the context of everyday motoring: comfortably more than 1,000 miles on one tank of diesel means just 12 fills a year for the average motorist - and even driven normally I still think you're looking at 750-800 miles per fill. BMW's EfficientDynamics: it does what it says on the tin."

The BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon develops 163hp between 3,500rpm to 4,200rpm and 360Nm of torque from 1,750rpm to 3,000rpm. This equates to a zero to 62mph time of 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 137mph ensuring that while it might be extremely efficient, it still offers sporting performance - a fact not lost on Tom.

He said: "It's difficult to tell the difference between this model and a standard 320d in terms of driving performance which is brilliant. It means that as well as the obvious financial advantages, this special 320d is a car for the environmentally conscious who still want a car that drives superbly."

For drivers choosing the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon, there is no VED to pay for the first year of purchase due to its low CO2 figure and a 13 per cent benefit-in-kind company car tax rating and sporting ability thanks to its 163bhp. For a business buying one, the sub 110g/km emissions mean 100 per cent first year writing down allowances, allowing the model's full first year depreciation against to be offset against Corporation Tax.

The BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Saloon comes with the existing suite of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies, including Auto Start-Stop, Brake Energy Regeneration and Electric Power Steering for optimum performance. However it also achieves its class-leading emissions with the addition of innovative engine construction, a longer transmission ratio, lowered suspension and the use of specially designed aerodynamic alloy wheels with Michelin EnergySaver tyres.

2011 Audi A8 - taking the fast lane onto the World Wide Web

The new 2011 Audi A8 is allegedly the first car in the world to offer an optional factory-installed WLAN hotspot for Wi-Fi access. Of course, this means that all your passengers will probably spend less time talking to you and more time on their laptops, Apple iPads and iPhones or netbooks.

To activate, the driver simply inserts a data-capable SIM card into the Bluetooth online car phone or by using a compatible cellular device with a SIM Access Profile.

All this is made possible through a rooftop antenna of the Audi A8 via the car’s own UMTS module. This enables the most connection stability with great reception quality.

Superchips BMW 135i Can Get 360hp

Superchips have released their new performance boosting ECU remap for BMW's 135i Coupe / Convertible.

Superchips has upgraded the 135i’s power from a measured standard output of 315 hp to 360 hp, with a maximum power gain of 49 hp at 5,989 rpm. At the same time, the ECU remap brings the BMW’s torque up from a tested 394 Nm to 456 Nm a 3,359 rpm.

Superchips says that this kit doubles the joy of driving this little beast, specially as it drops the 0 to 60 mph sprint time to 5.6 seconds. But because the speed limiter has not been changed, it still can’t do more than 155 mph.

The price: £445.00 including VAT (€515) and Superchips offers a very relieving 12-month/30,000 mile guarantee, lest you're worried about your BMW dealer getting upset at you messing with their work of art.

Press Release

SUPERCHIPS UNLEASHES THE BMW 135i'S REAL DRIVING MACHINE
  • Dealer fit ECU remap boosts performance by 49 bhp / 70 Nm of torque
  • Peak performance figures increase to 360 bhp / 456 Nm
  • Added pace and driveability for BMW 1-series flagship

Buckingham, United Kingdom, 20th May 2010

Thanks to its combination of small size and powerful 3.0-litre six
cylinder twin turbocharged engine, BMW's 135i has attracted a loyal
following amongst owners and the motoring press.

Which is why Buckingham based Superchips Ltd, the market leading
specialist in performance electronic tuning, is pleased to unveil a
performance boosting ECU remap for the 135i.

The result of extensive investigation into the BMW's Siemens MSD ECU
parameters, Superchip's highly experienced technicians successfully
identified several performance enhancement opportunities with the original
factory settings, enabling the company to refine the 135i's ECU map to meet
the needs of the BMW driving enthusiast who demands a sharper, more exciting
drive.

Careful optimisation of ignition, fuelling and turbo boost settings via
combination of extensive chassis dyno testing and road validation has
produced a Superchips remap that elevates the performance of the 135i onto a
different plane.

As measured on its in house four wheel drive chassis dyno', the
Superchips upgrade boosts the BMW 135i's peak power from a tested standard
output of 315 bhp, to a mighty 360 bhp, with a maximum power gain of 49 bhp
at 5989 rpm.

The Superchips ECU remap also significantly enhances the 135i's torque
output, rising from a measured 394 Nm to an impressive 456 Nm at just 3359
rpm, with maximum gain of 70 Nm at just 3267 rpm.

Compared to the standard BMW 135i, the Superchips upgraded car produces
peak torque over 1000 rpm lower down in the rev range, making it not only
ultimately faster, but also significantly easier to drive.

Although not yet tested against the clock, the Superchips remapped BMW
135i is expected to better the standard car's 5.3 second 0-60 mph sprint
time, although for safety reasons the 155 mph speed limiter is left
untouched.

The Superchips BMW 135i ECU remap also scores at the pumps - when driven
on a like for like basis with the standard car owners will experience no
fuel consumption penalty, despite the extra performance.

Installation of the Superchips ECU remap entails customers visiting one
of approximately 100 Superchips dealerships in the UK who will undertake the
remap procedure.

Customers can be assured the Superchips conversion is covered by a full
Customer Service Guarantee and an industry-leading 12 month / 30,000
supplementary full vehicle warranty.

Suitable for both manual and automatic transmission variants of BMW 135i
produced from 2007 onwards, the Superchips ECU remap is available now both
directly from Superchips and its UK dealer network, priced at £445.00
including VAT @ 17.5%.

Superchips - don't compromise, optimise.

Mercedes Benz Unimog U4000 Expedition Camper

The Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 4000 will be on display at the 2010 Abenteuer & Allrad, Europe's largest off-road vehicle show, from June 3. a custom expedition camper based on the Mercedes Unimog will be revealed which is literally the ultimate ride for every explorer! The U4000 is a bit pricey at 248,300 Euro, but no for going anywhere in style and comfort no other vehicle comes even close to this thing.

Power comes from a 4.2 four-cylinder diesel engine producing 160 kW (215 bhp / 218 PS). It is fed by a 290 litre (76.6 US gallons) diesel tank and carries two 20 litre (5 gallon) reserve canisters. Part of the vehicle's excellent off-road capability is ensured by a suspension with torque tube, transverse links and coil springs, portal axles for great ground clearance, as well as short frame overhangs.

The team has installed a camper module which is 4.35 m long, 2.2 m wide and 1.95 m high. The module uses 50 mm thermal bridge-free fiberglass-reinforced plastic for the walls and a 60 mm floor.

A lockable passage allows occupants to climb from the cab to the camper. A washroom, consisting of a compact toilet, washbasin, and shower, is placed behind the driver’s seat, directly across the aisle from a wardrobe. A small kitchen and fridge are packed inside, along with Alcantara-trimmed benches. An elevated double bed is placed at the very back of the camper body.

The modified Unimog utilizes a hot air interior heater powered by diesel, a 200 Ah battery, 260W solar panels, LED spots, TFT TV, Sattelite dish and a DVD player. The total size of the Camper Unimog measure 6.85 m long, 2.35 m wide and 3.5 m high and has a pricetag of EUR 248,000.

Press Release

  • Out into the big wide world with the Unimog
  • Based on the Unimog U 4000 with its impressive chassis concept
  • Unimog copes with arduous, long expeditions thanks to the Bocklet body
  • On display at the off-road vehicle show in Bad Kissingen from
    3 to 6 June 2010
Stuttgart - An expedition camper based on the Mercedes-Benz Unimog – the dream of every bona fide globetrotter. At this year's "Abenteuer & Allrad", Europe's largest off-road vehicle show, the expedition camper will be on display in Bad Kissingen from 3 to 6 June 2010.
Michael Bocklet from Koblenz and his team have built a fully fledged go-anywhere vehicle based on the UniversalMotorGerät (Universal Motorized Unit), to give the Unimog its full name. The distinctive Unimog U 4000 with its Bocklet body is the archetypal expedition vehicle – the consummate solution for even the most ardent adventurer.

The U 4000 is the perfect expedition vehicle thanks to its absolutely unique chassis concept. Portal axles deliver excellent ground clearance and ensure constant road contact of all four wheels. The suspension with torque tube, transverse links and coil springs allows long spring travel and superb axle articulation – supporting diagonal axle articulation of up to 30 degrees. In conjunction with the short frame overhangs, the Unimog also effortlessly takes difficult obstacles, hilltops, slopes or embankments in its stride. Waterproof major assemblies and an air intake pipe level with the cabin roof ensure a fording capability of 1.20 metres. The Unimog comes with single tyres (as opposed to the twin tyres on an all-wheel-drive truck), thus offering high traction with low rolling resistance. The tirecontrol tyre pressure monitoring system can be used to reduce the tyre pressure conveniently from the driver's seat while on the move and so ensure the wheels do not get bogged down on soft ground. This technical feature improves traction and power delivery.

Trouble-free driving with the go-anywhere vehicle

The 4249-cc four-cylinder diesel unit produces 160 kW (218 hp). The permissible gross vehicle weight of the all-wheel-drive vehicle (wheelbase 3850 mm) is 7490 or 8500 kilograms respectively. In conjunction with the all-wheel drive and differential locks on the front and rear axle, the Unimog is the ideal solution for a superlative off-road expedition vehicle. Should it – in the very unlikely event – get stuck, the Unimog can use its hydraulic seven-tonne front winch to pull itself out of the quagmire with its "own hair" à la Baron Munchausen. However, you are much more likely to find it using the winch to pull out other vehicles from difficult situations. A diesel tank with a capacity of 290 litres (plus two 20-litre reserve canisters) also makes longer journeys less nerve-racking where refuelling is not an option. The comfort seats in the cab provide an ideal fatigue-free solution for these arduous stages.

The rear of the Bocklet accommodation module is tapered at an angle to retain the Unimog's full off-road capabilities. The inside of the module measures 4.35 metres long and 2.20 metres wide (standing height 1.95 metres). The roof and walls of the three-point mounted, thermal bridge-free fibreglass-reinforced plastic box are 50 mm thick, standing on a 60-mm-thick floor. All the walls are finished with a 2-mm-thick fabric-reinforced outer layer. The hatches and doors all come with hollow rubber seals and multi-point locks, which help protect the stowage compartments against the ingress of dust or water.

Behind the driver's seat is the accommodation module washroom, fitted out with a cassette toilet, wash basin and shower. Hot water is provided by a combined Truma gas/electric boiler with a capacity of 10 litres. The corner kitchen is fitted towards the rear and comes with a two-burner gas stove, sink and drainer.

A (lockable) passage leads to the cab, with a wardrobe fitted on the right behind the co-passenger seat. The 110-litre compressor fridge occupies the space up to the entrance door.

Benches arranged longitudinally to the direction of travel provide two seats with exquisite Alcantara® upholstery. Tanks and additional stowage space are housed under the dinette in the false floor. The Unimog carries around 300 litres of fresh water on-board, along with a waste tank holding 200 litres. The entire rear area is home to a 200 x 135-cm double bed. Additional stowage space, which can be accessed from outside, is provided under the bed.

A diesel-powered Eberspächer hot air heater ensures a comfortable night's sleep in colder climes or during the winter months. To ensure sufficient 'juice', Bocklet has installed 220 Ah of battery capacity, backed up by 260-W solar panels, an automatic charger (24 V / 50 A) and a 1.2-kW inverter. A control panel with an ampere-hour metre monitors the power system; minimal energy consumption comes courtesy of the low-energy lights and LED spots fitted in the interior. There is a TFT television plus satellite dish and a DVD player for entertainment and information during the expedition, no matter how far away from home you venture. The 6.85-metre-long, 2.35-metre-wide and 3.50-metre-high expedition camper based on the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 4000 costs EUR 248,300.
